VidComm was founded by Diane Allen, an award-winning television producer with over 30 years of experience in the business. Today, besides being President of VidComm, she is a principal in the Camden Shipping Corporation and is a New Jersey State Senator.
Before politics and shipping, Diane began her broadcasting career in Mount Holly, New Jersey at WJJZ Radio. There, she quickly moved from public service programming to reporting to news directing before taking a position at New Jersey Network, where she eventually became a news anchor.
During the next twenty years, while raising her two children, Diane perfected her television producing skills at several news stations. In 1976, she joined KYW-TV, in Philadelphia, to host a weekly women’s program. Soon she was promoted to noon anchor and later given her own daily talk show. Following a three-year stint working for ABC in Chicago, she returned to KYW in 1982. After seven years serving the station as primary anchor, producer and reporter, she moved across town to the CBS-owned station, WCAU-TV, where she was executive producer, evening anchor and education reporter.
In 1996 Diane took a seat in the New Jersey State Assembly and in 1998, she moved up to the New Jersey State Senate.
At VidComm, Inc. in Burlington, NJ, Diane Allen and her staff produce broadcast documentaries, videos for fundraising, recruitment and presentation, commercials and psa’s, video news releases and live events. She also does media training and designs and implements web sites for a variety of clients, including not-for-profit organizations. Altogether, Diane has won 9 Emmy’s, a Peabody Award and dozens of other national and international awards for her exceptional work in media production.
